The National Secretariat of the Communist Party of India strongly condemns the outrageous and politically motivated indictment initiated by the authorities of the United States of America against revolutionary leader Raúl Castro of Cuba. This action is yet another manifestation of the continuing hostile policy pursued by successive US administrations against socialist Cuba, aimed at undermining its sovereignty, destabilising its political system, and intimidating those who have steadfastly defended the Cuban Revolution. Raul Castro, together with the historic leadership of Cuba, has played a decisive role in safeguarding the dignity, independence, and social achievements of the Cuban people in the face of decades-long imperialist aggression, blockade, and coercion.

The CPI expresses its unwavering solidarity with the people and government of Cuba and calls upon democratic, progressive, and peace-loving forces across the world to oppose such acts of political vendetta and interference in the internal affairs of sovereign nations. At a time when Cuba continues to face severe economic hardships caused largely by the unjust blockade imposed by the United States, such provocative measures only deepen tensions and violate the principles of international law and peaceful coexistence. The CPI reiterates its firm support for Cuba’s right to determine its own path free from external pressure and reaffirms its solidarity with Raúl Castro and the Cuban people in their struggle against imperialism and for national sovereignty.
